Field trials were carried out in 2006 and 2007 to evaluate the efficacy of meptyldinocap against grape powdery mildew, in comparison with the commercial fungicides penconazole and spiroxamine. Fungicides were applied as preventative or as curative at increasing level of disease incidence. Meptyldinocap applied as preventive obtained the highest efficacy, whereas applied as curative had lower efficacy at increasing disease incidence. Its efficacy was not significant different from other commercial fungicides. The results obtained showed that meptyldinocap has the same efficacy of dinocap, at 60 ml/hl seems to have a persistence shorter than 10 days and applied as curative does not stop the spread of the disease on clusters.
