Spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) and cerebral palsy (CP) are severe neurological conditions which impact profoundly on the nutritional status of children. SMA is a genetical, degenerative disease that leads to muscle atrophy. CP is an acquired condition caused by a permanent and non-progressive encephalic lesion.
