Bruno Nardi was much more than a Dantist, but his well-known works on Renaissance philosophy have been considered as a kind of ‘byproduct’ of his researches on Dante. This paper discusses this view, introduced by Eugenio Garin, and shows that it risks to underrate the importance of Nardi’s original contribution to the understanding of the Aristotelian tradition, and in particular of Renaissance Aristotelianism.

Abstract
Bruno Nardi was much more than a Dantist, but his well-known works on Renaissance philosophy have been considered as a kind of ‘byproduct’ of his researches on Dante. This paper discusses this view, introduced by Eugenio Garin, and shows that it risks to underrate the importance of Nardi’s original contribution to the understanding of the Aristotelian tradition, and in particular of Renaissance Aristotelianism.File in questo prodotto:
