Pechino e Shanghai in alcune scritture letterarie contemporanee: elementi narrativi e spunti geografici

The way many contemporary Chinese cities chose to develop and regenerate themselves is that of impressive interventions in the urban fabric where to show the innovative principles of architecture and urban planning and legitimate the power of the single party and the new horizons of the so-called «Chinese dream». Behind these representations, however, much more complex social and territorial realities made up of lights and shadows are hidden. Beijing and Shanghai represent the paroxysmal forms of the Chinese urban scenarios with their strong political and economic vocation, and become fundamental material for a vast and heterogeneous literary production able to grasp continuities and discontinuities of time and space, to represent a complexity with its daily challenges, forms of inclusion and exclusion, structures and infrastructures, intersections and much more. In such a vast and heterogeneous field, this article, with no demand to be exhaustive, this article aims to provide a little taste of how the transformations that affected Beijing and Shanghai during the last decades deeply influenced the literary production of some contemporary Chinese writers.

La via scelta da molte città cinesi contemporanee per svilupparsi e rigenerarsi è quella di imponenti interventi nel tessuto urbano dove mostrare i principi innovativi dell’architettura e dell’urbanistica e dove legittimare il potere del partito unico e i nuovi orizzonti del cosiddetto «sogno cinese». Dietro tali rappresentazioni si dissimulano però realtà sociali e territoriali ben più complesse e fatte di luci e ombre. Pechino e Shanghai rappresentano le forme parossistiche degli scenari urbani cinesi a forte vocazione politica ed economica e diventano materiale fondamentale per una vasta ed eterogenea produzione letteraria attenta a cogliere le continuità e le discontinuità del tempo e dello spazio, a rappresentare una complessità fatta di sfide quotidiane, forme di inclusione e di esclusione, strutture e infrastrutture, intersezioni e molto altro ancora. In una materia così ampia ed eterogenea, il presente articolo non può essere certo esaustivo, ma vuole solo fornire un piccolo assaggio di come le trasformazioni degli ultimi decenni di Pechino e Shanghai abbiano influenzato in profondità la produzione letteraria di alcuni scrittori cinesi contemporanei.
