Merci e Bone Volentez: un’ipotesi su Chrétien de Troyes e Dante

Chrétien de Troyes’ contribution to the renowned troubadouric débat on the nature of love, the song D’amors, qui m’a tolu a moi, introduces two fundamental and interconnected elements into the tristanian controversy: the “merci” and the “bone volentez”. Variously declined, the issue of the reciprocal implications between “mercé” and “ buona voglia” is one of the determining factors of Chrétien’s influence on ancient Italian poetry, particularly in Guinizzelli. From this purview the A. advances the thesis that the fact in his lyrics Dante takes the topic up again is a relevant indication of a direct link with Chrétien’s text. In this way Dante takes the first step towards the novel solution of the relationship between “buona voglia” and “mercé” later established in the new perspective of the Commedia.

Intervenendo nel celebre débat trobadorico sulla natura d’amore, con la canzone D’amors, qui m’a tolu a moi, Chrétien de Troyes immette nel circolo della polemica tristaniana due elementi fondamentali e tra loro connessi: la “merci” e la “bone volentez”. Variamente declinata, la questione delle reciproche implicazioni tra “mercé” e “buona voglia” costituisce uno dei nodi dell’ascendente probabilmente esercitato da Chrétien sulla poesia italiana antica, con rilievo particolare in Gunizzelli. Su questa base l’A. ipotizza che la ripresa in sede lirica del tema da parte di Dante possa costituire la traccia significativa di una relazione diretta con il testo di Chrétien, preludio necessario alla soluzione inedita del rapporto tra “buona voglia” e “mercé” successivamente stabilita da Dante stesso nell’orizzonte nuovo della Commedia.
