César Mba Abogo is an Equatoguinean writer whose works are relevant in the postmodern and postcolonial debates. On the one hand, he is a perfect example of the “aesthetic nomad” who lives and creates in a globalized world. On the other hand, he is compelled by circumstances to claim his African roots. In the collection of short-stories and poems "El porteador de Marlow. Canción negra sin color" this ambivalence is expressed by an intense intertextuality. However, under that mestizo dialogue it is perceivable the irresolute tension of a split black subject that occupies an uncomfortable cross-border space between Europe and Africa.

Abstract

César Mba Abogo is an Equatoguinean writer whose works are relevant in the postmodern and postcolonial debates. On the one hand, he is a perfect example of the “aesthetic nomad” who lives and creates in a globalized world. On the other hand, he is compelled by circumstances to claim his African roots. In the collection of short-stories and poems "El porteador de Marlow. Canción negra sin color" this ambivalence is expressed by an intense intertextuality. However, under that mestizo dialogue it is perceivable the irresolute tension of a split black subject that occupies an uncomfortable cross-border space between Europe and Africa.
César Mba Abogo es un escritor ecuatoguineano que se inserta en un clima posmoderno y poscolonial, ya que por un lado encarna el concepto de “nómada estético” en un mundo globalizado, mientras que, por otro, se ve impelido a reivindicar sus raíces africanas. Esta ambivalencia se traduce en la colección de cuentos y poemas "El porteador de Marlow. Canción negra sin color" (2007) en una tupida intertextualidad. Sin embargo, bajo ese diálogo mestizo late la tensión irresoluta de un sujeto negro escindido que ocupa un incómodo espacio fronterizo entre Europa y África.
