50 anni di vita delle Regioni : un percorso a fasi alterne per la crescita del Paese = 50 years of the Regions : A path of alternating phases for the growth of the country

The essay questions the role of the Regions 50 years after their establishment. The author points out that in a few years the prospect for renewal born with the reform of Title V has given way to more centralist positions and to logics of delegitimization between center and periphery. The role of the Regions is at the moment underestimated in political and administrative management and the Central State is not a point of connection and synthesis of the multiple interests present in the territories. The pandemic crisis has only accentuated this phenomenon. Instead, we should rediscover the culture of autonomy and give to the Regions a more significant role, not only in the administrative sector, but also in the political and legislative dimension.
