La condivisione difficile: Angelo Mai editore di Frontone da Milano a Roma

Abstract The editorial history of Fronto's Epistulae from the lively Milanese cultural milieu at the beginning of the Restoration to the Roman one, far less dynamic, shows that Angelo Mai, however mostly alien to the contemporary debate about textual criticism, acted as a modern cultural entrepreneur, turning to literary reviews and printers and showing a high degree of personal intitiative, well supported by his social environment, in order to spread his discoveries in the Ambrosiana and Vaticana libraries.
