Da De Sanctis a Cuoco, o per una classificazione dell’Ottocento politico italiano

The article aims at analysing the role of Vincenzo Cuoco and his works in the intellectual and political experience of Francesco De Sanctis. To this end, it takes into consideration Italian culture and political movements of the 19th Century, against which De Sanctis' references to Cuoco can be understood. As a matter of fact, those references vary - sometimes deeply - depending on the political events under way, to which De Sanctis was not only a witness but also a party.
