In European Community, practically only in Italy was produced milk from buffaloes, for which an increasing consumption was recorded. Moreover, lack in production limitations (“milk quotas”), they constitute an additional reason for development. Milk dairy herds, past times limited only to Middle-South Italy regions, is developing in North Italy too. Due to this increased development, we focused our attention on intramammary infections and milk somatic cell count dynamics, relate them to farm management, in two commercial herds situated in Lombardia area
