What does translation teaching complexity consist of, nowadays? How could modern translation competence reference frameworks evolve towards more applicable models for translation teaching? How could translation teaching give better answers to always changing translation market needs? This article tries to give an answer to these issues by analysing the pedagogical implications deriving from the development of translation competence in terms of managerial competence. This analysis will start from taking into account skills and knowledge, which must be managed by the translator during the translation process, in order to point out the pedagogical dimensions characterising translational competence training as a kind of managerial thinking training.
