Ring chromosome 20 [r(20)] syndrome is a chromosomal disorder that is characterized by epilepsy, mental retardation and lack of recognizable dysmorphic features. We studied the peculiar pattern of sleep in 6 patients (2 males, 4 females) aged 2-59 years who underwent one polysomnographic recording. Similarly to other genetically determined syndromes also patients with r(20) syndrome show changes of sleep architecture that seem to be age-related.
