The Tunisian playwright Jalila Baccar published her play Junun in Tunisia, in 2001, which she self-translated into French, in 2003. In the first part, this article will examine the issues that an analysis of the rhythm of a self-translated play can raise. In the second part, through several examples from the text, the article will substantiate the importance of the rhythmic element in the author’s aesthetics.
