Abstract

Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor (EGFR) targeted polymer based nanostructures are promising tools for selective treatment of EGFR overexpressing cells. GE11 peptide is dodecapeptide that was shown to be able to mediate specific targeting to EGFR expressing tumors in vivo and have high binding capacity to EGFR and low mitogenic activity. Poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA) is an intersting polymer due to its long clinical experience, strenght, favourable degradation characteristics and possibilities for sustained drug delivery .
