The aim of this study was to underline the importance of dentofacial orthopaedics in the prevention and correction of severe skeletal discrepancies, influencing Neuromuscolar system of the stomatognathic apparatus to guide the growth to a correct dental-skeletal muscular balance. The Authors examine the early treatment of skeletal class II malocclusion by Teuscher appliance which links together the action of activator and extra-oral force, improving the efficacy of treatment. The main objetcive of the Teuscher’s combined treatment (activator/extra-oral force) is to limit the development factors tending to skeletal class II malocclusion and to spur the factors tending to harmonize the maxillo-mandibular relationships. The authors underline the excellent skeletal and dental results and demonstrate the benefits obtained on the muscular function by electromyographic exams. The show how the use of electromyography is useful not only to study the muscular activity but also to check the efficacy of orthodontic therapy used.

Abstract
The show how the use of electromyography is useful not only to study the muscular activity but also to check the efficacy of orthodontic therapy used.Pubblicazioni consigliate
