The work has been carried out according to the general lines of previous work concerning the phase diagrams CsCl-TlCl and CsBr-TlBr (Schiraldi et al., 1978); strict similarities have been found among these three systems for the behaviour of the liquidus and solidus curves as well as for that of miscibility gap limiting a solid solution with CsCl type structure which is in equilibrium with the liquid phase throughout the composition range. However, in this system the maximum of the symmetric miscibility gap occurs at quite higher T, viz. 350degC; intermediate compounds should exist below 280degC and a eutectoid equilibrium concerning the TlI richer compositions should take place at 158°C.
