The meeting "Emilio Bigi e gli studi di stilistica storica" took place in Milan at Università degli Studi (February 25th, 2010). This meeting intended to recall Bigi’s criticism as well as his personality and his teachings on the occasion of the first anniversary of his death. Some famous scholars, once colleagues or pupils of his, were called to talk over the great outcome of his Historical Stylistics (with reference to the writers and to the works he held dearest), or to outline significant periods of his life. Emilio Bigi (1916-2009), Full Professor of Italian Literature on the Universities of Trieste, Pisa and Milan and joint editor of the “Giornale storico della Letteratura italiana”, was gifted with deep critical insight, special fineness and great respect toward the text.
