Abstract

Implant restorations delivered according to the Branemark protocol have proven to be highly predictable. To shorten the length of treatment associated with the Branemark protocol, as well as to preserve soft and hard tissues, newer protocols have focused on reducing or even eliminating the time between tooth extraction and implant placement and between implant placement and prosthetic restoration delivery. The authors present a case in which control of postextraction implant placement, optimal implant positioning, and immediate loading contributed to clinical success.
