This data set contains the precipitation and temperature records we used for the PRIN 2022 PNRR DECC Project. DECC was a research project (PRIN 2022 PNRR - P20229Y75N - Debris flow hazard and climate change in the Northern Apennines: reconstructing and modelling past and future environmental scenarios) funded by the European Union – Next Generation EU, through the PRIN 2022 PNRR call, issued by the Italian Ministry for University and Resaerch . The DECC research project employed a multidisciplinary strategy to investigate debris flow hazard and climate change in the northern Apennines by combining multi-proxy ground-based observations with current climate dynamic analysis. This approach aimed to reconstruct and model environmental scenarios spanning from the past through to 2100 CE. The DECC study focused on the upper Enza and Secchia river basins, specifically investigating slope-based debris flows involving moraine and gravitative deposits around the Alpe di Succiso peak. Among the tasks of the Milan University operational unit there was i) the reconstruction of past temperature and precipitation records for the study area and ii) the downscaling to the study area of corresponding future climate scenarios.
