Pristine and MPTMS-functionalized Ti3C2Tx and Nb2CTx MXenes were investigated as chemiresistive sensors for nitric oxide under variable humidity at room temperature. Functionalization preserved the layered morphology while modifying the surface chemistry and reducing water interference. Ti3C2Tx showed a p-type-like response, whereas Nb2CTx displayed n-type behavior. MPTMS increased the response amplitude, especially for the niobium-based MXene, and enabled measurable signals at 5 ppm NO with sub-ppm detection prospects for breath analysis.

Abstract
Pristine and MPTMS-functionalized Ti3C2Tx and Nb2CTx MXenes were investigated as chemiresistive sensors for nitric oxide under variable humidity at room temperature. Functionalization preserved the layered morphology while modifying the surface chemistry and reducing water interference. Ti3C2Tx showed a p-type-like response, whereas Nb2CTx displayed n-type behavior. MPTMS increased the response amplitude, especially for the niobium-based MXene, and enabled measurable signals at 5 ppm NO with sub-ppm detection prospects for breath analysis.Pubblicazioni consigliate
