Conversazione con Rodion [Edoardo Cianfanelli]

Groove is one of the most important features of many styles of popular music, and is an important aesthetic goal for musicians and producers alike. The ethnographic part of this research involved professional music producers and arrangers, investigating their approach to groove composition and their use of rhythm-related music technologies. The study took place in the recording studios where the interviewees work on a daily basis. This enabled us to draw on or create musical examples relevant to the discussion and demonstrate the use of equipment and technical tricks first-hand. (2023-12-12)
