Considerazioni sul valore conoscitivo della letteratura e delle arti

The purpose of this article is to present some reflections aimed at confirming the thesis that literature and art do not necessarily have a cognitive function, nor do they always have an adaptive utility and function. This does not detract from the fact that works of art and stories can teach us a great deal, even when they invite us to retrace impossible experiences, as sometimes happens in fiction, but also on the figurative terrain, as the last pages of this essay will show, aimed at reflecting on the figures represented from the back.

Lo scopo di questo articolo è quello di presentare alcune riflessioni volte a confermare la tesi che la letteratura e l’arte non hanno necessariamente una funzione cognitiva, né hanno sempre un’utilità e una funzione adattiva. Ciò non toglie tuttavia che le opere d’arte e le storie possano insegnarci molte cose, e che possano farlo anche quando ci invitano a ripercorrere esperienze impossibili, come a volte accade nella narrativa, ma anche sul terreno figurativo, come mostreranno le ultime pagine di questo saggio, volte a riflettere sulle figure rappresentate di schiena.
