Tra divulgazione e narrazione: Leonardo nelle strenne e nei giornali dell’Ottocento milanese

Between dissemination and narrative: Leonardo in news and newspapers of the 19th century Milan · Leonardo da Vinci is perceived in Milanese culture as one of the constitutive figures of the city identity; in the nineteenth century, Leonardo has received specific and wide attention in the Strenne (Keepsakers), i.e. serial publishing products of wide circulation for everyday readers. This essay takes into consideration some cases of texts published in the Strenne (mainly by Giuseppe Sacchi, Giuseppe Vallardi, Pier Ambrogio Curti, Giuseppe Marco Bourelly), analyzing the narrative strategies, the sources, the elements of Leonardo’s biography to which it is paid more attention, the overall image of Leonardo as is it is re-shaped.

Leonardo da Vinci viene percepito nella cultura milanese come una delle figure costitutive dell’identità milanese; nell’Ottocento, particolare attenzione riceve dalle Strenne, ossia prodotti seriali dell’editoria di larga circolazione per un pubblico generalista. In questo saggio si prendono in considerazione alcuni casi di testi pubblicati nelle Strenne (soprattutto di Giuseppe Sacchi, Giuseppe Vallardi, Pier Ambrogio Curti, Giuseppe Marco Bourelly), analizzandone le strategie narrative, le fonti, gli elementi della biografia a cui viene prestata maggiore attenzione, l’immagine di Leonardo che viene ricostruita.
