La conquista femminile di uno spazio di lettura autonomo

This paper evaluates in historical perspective the statistical analyses that have been returning us data on women’s reading in Italy since 1965, and questions the interpretation according to which the numerical superiority of women readers should be referred to the influence of a series of invariable constants. It is worth considering a historical path of emancipation of women readers, who have imposed themselves as active subjects in claiming and conquering an autonomous reading space

Il contributo valuta in prospettiva storica le analisi statistiche che dal 1965 restituiscono i dati sulla lettura femminile in Italia, e rimette in discussione l’interpretazione secondo la quale la superiorità numerica delle lettrici andrebbe riferita all’influenza di una serie di costanti invariabili. Conviene tenere conto di un percorso storico di emancipazione delle lettrici, che si sono imposte come soggetti attivi nella rivendicazione e nella conquista di uno spazio di lettura autonomo.
