This presentation will focus on the preliminary findings of my PhD thesis. In particular, by positioning food truck micro-entrepreneurs and 'hipster' bar and restaurant owners as part of the broader creative economy, in line with the literature on craft as a component of the cultural and creative industries, it will argue that they constitute a 'humbler' pathway to the creative industries and a peculiar kind of entrepreneurial self.
