The ‘stateless’ are an emblematic figure of the 20th century: they represent a new pheno- menon in politics and political philosophy. Forced by power relations into recurring exiles and relocations, deprived of the ‘right to have rights,’ they permeate contemporary history within a global space economically and politically governed by a weakened nation-state system and multinational powers. When viewed as a philosophical figure rather than me- rely a legal category, as moral agents rather than just moral patients, they can, however, become a valuable guide for understanding, reinventing, and ultimately attributing new humanity to politics. They require a change in perception, reading, and understanding of reality, a conversion of vision and thought, and they make evident the necessity for the actors and actresses of the present century to undertake new political choices, even pushing to the boundaries of democracy. The work of Karl Jaspers and Hannah Arendt, among other themes, focused on a specific interpretation of the idea of statelessness, which this contribution aims to bring to light, describing and analyzing it precisely in the interest of better understanding the most recent international contingencies.

Abstract
The work of Karl Jaspers and Hannah Arendt, among other themes, focused on a specific interpretation of the idea of statelessness, which this contribution aims to bring to light, describing and analyzing it precisely in the interest of better understanding the most recent international contingencies.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
