In this short contribution on the future and the importance of human remains as Cultural Heritage, we intend to raise two particular questions arising from the perspective of those who deal with ancient remains, but at the same time with contemporary violence and discrimination. The first attempt is to underline how the study of human remains and the information deriving from them are fundamental for our future development; the second is to alert about the importance of the collections of human remains and their protection. These two aspects will then be declined by presenting the experience of the writers on the CAL, the Labanof Anthropological Collection, a diachronic collection on Milan and Lombardy of approximately 10000 skeletons, and the MUSA, University Museum of Anthropological, Medical and Forensic Sciences for human rights, the museum that hosts it.
