This work presents an interdisciplinary laboratory, between mathematics and botany, designed for lower secondary schools, conceived and conducted in collaboration with students of the Master Degree Course in Mathematics of the University of Milan. The aim of the work was to try to introduce a non-curricular topic and to lead students to understand geometric properties observable in plants. The activities, which focus on the concept of plane spiral, were tested involving eight classes in the province of Bergamo and were managed using the collaborative group work method.
