Mueller and G. Bednorz. The utilization of HTS for accelerator magnets faces exceptionally demanding, as yet unresolved, challenges. However, the forthcoming generation of accelerators, necessitating high magnetic field strengths (above 15 T) and emphasizing sustainability by reducing energy consumption, presents a distinct opportunity for cuprate superconductors to emerge as the fundamental framework for all future large accelerators in high-energy physics.
