The article presents the itinerary that has taken place over the last fifty years regarding the reception of non-European textual productions. The most recent researches tend to use the definitions of "transnational literature" and "World Literature", conceiving the literary text as a response to the global and cosmopolitan dimension that the circulation and fruition of cultures is assuming, focusing in particular on the study of the translation and circulation of texts.
