This paper is the review of an excellent book about the hate speech and the dark side of language which takes into account John Langshow Austin’s works, especially How to do Things with Words. The main idea of the book is that we do not have to look only at perlocutionary effects of an utterance; by converse it must be stressed also illocutionary force of speech acts. Further- more, in the reviewed work the treatment of the issues of gender theory is of great interest.
