The paper focuses on the Russian tradition of political-utopian and panegyrical novels, original and translated, about the second Roman king Numa Pompilius, highlighting the differences with the original myth, where his counsellor, the nymph Egeria plays a prominent role. Since the Russian Empress, Catherine the Great, had appropriated the persona of Minerva, in Russia the role of Egeria was downplayed.
