Video diagnostic is a powerful method employed in the space applications; experimental equipment can benefit today of the latest technology in the field of image sensors that can provide revolutions and pixel rates unforeseeable since few years ago. Techno System Dev. has been working for several years in the field of digital video for space applications; many systems have already flown on board sounding rockets and the Russian Foton capsule. Thanks the know-how gained in more than ten years of design and development of digital video systems, Techno System Developments is today able to provide a new generation of digital video platform, named H2VMU (High Resolution/High Frame Rate Video Management Unit), which can handle high resolution/high frame rate images. This paper provides an overview on the precursor systems and details the H2VMU architecture and specifications.
