This paper provides an overview of the Italian legal education system and its access to legal professions, along with an examination of information and communication technologies. It specifically investigates the landscape of online legal education in Italy, both pre and post the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent lockdown measures. The study encompasses both university-level legal education and the continuing legal education requirements for practicing lawyers. It critically analyzes the accomplishments and challenges encountered by traditional Italian universities in adapting to online legal education. The analysis takes into account the regulatory context, the characteristics of the university system, law schools, and the teaching staff.
