Il meccanismo europeo del Rule of Law e la riforma del potere giudiziario in Slovacchia

In the context of the rule of law mechanism, the European Commission has identified a number of critical issues relating to the respect of the rule of law principle in Slovakia. The country faces long-standing problems related to the independence of the judiciary and the presence of systemic corruption. The approval of a major reform of the judicial system in December 2020 have partly addressed the requests from the Union, but it has raised a whole series of questions about the stability of the democratic system in the country.
