he essay analyzes how photography told the changes in the Italian landscape in the second half of the twentieth century. In particular, how, after the economic boom, two generations of photographers have begun to consider the new landscape as the strongest sign of the disappearance of a world and a civilization. From the catalogs of the Touring Club Italiano to Luigi Ghirri's Viaggio in Italia, passing by the photographic analyzes of Paolo Monti and Italo Zannier, disentangles the story of a loss, but also of a tenacious and suffered resistance.
Il saggio analizza in che modo la fotografia ha raccontato i mutamenti del paesaggio italiano nella seconda metà del Novecento. In particolare come, a seguito del boom economico, due generazioni di fotografi abbiano iniziato a percepire il nuovo paesaggio come il segno più forte della scomparsa di un mondo e di una civiltà. Dai cataloghi del Touring Club Italiano al Viaggio in Italia di Luigi Ghirri, passando per le analisi fotografiche di Paolo Monti e Italo Zannier, si dipana la storia di una perdita, ma anche di una tenace e sofferta resistenza.
