After years in which AI was viewed with great optimism as something that would make a positive contribution to efficiency in the administration of justice, for some time now critical voices have come forward in the academic debate who, without denying the extraordinary potential of AI in the field of law, raise questions that have not yet found a satisfactory answer, and which concern not efficiency but justice, respect for fundamental rights, and in a certain sense the very conception of the person in the framework of legal thought.
