The article examines some of the short novels published by Emilia Pardo Bazán in popular collections between 1907 and 1920, as well as the criticism about them, noting the predominance of themes centered on deceit and revenge and a conscious structuring of genre appropriate to the publishing format, particularly evident and brilliant in "Allende la verdad", "La gota de sangre" and "La muerte del poeta".
