In the context of the Cold War, Augusto De Marsanich and Arturo Michelini began a project by which they tried to reshape the profile of the Italian Social Movement (MSI). The present contribution aims to analyse the political thought and activity carried out within this context by Edmondo Cione, highlighting the networks and debates in which he took part in the first half of the 1950s. Cione’s ambitious purpose was to redefine the political identity of the MSI and its role in post-Fascist Italy.

Abstract
In the context of the Cold War, Augusto De Marsanich and Arturo Michelini began a project by which they tried to reshape the profile of the Italian Social Movement (MSI). By privileging the relationship with Catholics, they disclosed the possibility of a dialogue with the Democrazia Cristiana (DC), joining the governing coalition and, at the same time, resolving the controversial question of being Fascist in a democratic state. The present contribution aims to analyse the political thought and activity carried out within this context by Edmondo Cione, highlighting the networks and debates in which he took part in the first half of the 1950s. Cione’s ambitious purpose was to redefine the political identity of the MSI and its role in post-Fascist Italy.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
