Salamanca and Pavia, university towns. It is an old equation, but still valid. Despite the chronological and geographical distance, the two institutions show some contact points that make a comparison interesting. In this paper, after the analysis under an organizational profile of the two Studia, the comparison will focus on the graduated people during Charles V and Philip II ages. The aim is to verify if and in which way the cultural policies of the Monarquia influenced, directly nor indirectly, the number of graduations in Salamanca and Pavia.
