Polyfunctional words as the linguistic unit ganz are a great challenge for foreign language learners. This is not least due to the fact that the thematization of this remains unconsidered in dictionaries as well as in textbooks. The aim of this article is therefore to show how the integration of general and specialized parallel corpora in foreign language teaching can help not only to sensitize learners to the polyfunctionality of homonymous lexemes, but also to support them in the disambiguation of meaning and in the correct selection of equivalent expressions. For this purpose, a didactic application case will be outlined in which parallel corpora are used in DaF lessons.

Abstract
Polyfunctional words as the linguistic unit ganz are a great challenge for foreign language learners. This is not least due to the fact that the thematization of this remains unconsidered in dictionaries as well as in textbooks. The aim of this article is therefore to show how the integration of general and specialized parallel corpora in foreign language teaching can help not only to sensitize learners to the polyfunctionality of homonymous lexemes, but also to support them in the disambiguation of meaning and in the correct selection of equivalent expressions. For this purpose, a didactic application case will be outlined in which parallel corpora are used in DaF lessons.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
