In the context of the current emergency situation due to the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic (or, as this retrovirus is often called, Covid-19), there is a very fa vorable scenario to investigate the relationship between the binding nature of contracts and all circumstances of fact or law that lead to a possible mod ification of the contractual program. In this context, the article, having as a premise the existing relations between the legal force of contracts and the concept of force majeure, outlines the guidelines on the new rules of contract law that were created in the Italian legal system and brings different decisions of the Italian courts on the matter in question. In addition, it indicates param eters for evaluating and examining the types of contracts in the current health emergency scenario.
