Origami has been shown to be effective in improving hand-to-eye coordination, fine motor skills, spatial visualization, the memorization of logic sequences, concentration and creativity. Moreover, it can be used to teach and learn any level of mathematics in a dynamic tangible way. In light of these benefits, we present a kit of didactical material whose purpose is to approach mathematics through the exploration of five simple origami bases. The main components of this kit are an interactive poster and a booklet with a proposal of activities, based on the poster contents, that relate to a number of mathematical subjects including polygons, graph theory and Euclidean geometry axiomatics.

Abstract
Origami has been shown to be effective in improving hand-to-eye coordination, fine motor skills, spatial visualization, the memorization of logic sequences, concentration and creativity. Moreover, it can be used to teach and learn any level of mathematics in a dynamic tangible way. In light of these benefits, we present a kit of didactical material whose purpose is to approach mathematics through the exploration of five simple origami bases. The main components of this kit are an interactive poster and a booklet with a proposal of activities, based on the poster contents, that relate to a number of mathematical subjects including polygons, graph theory and Euclidean geometry axiomatics.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
