The presentation investigates the nexus between time and the construction of gender identity in early Christianity. By analyzing a series of early Christian works considered as highly representative case studies of gendered temporality, I am to identify a set of key features that may define the influence of eschatology and martyrdom on women's social and religious role in the first three centuries of Christian era.
