The presentation investigates the nexus between time and the construction of gender identity in early Christianity. By analyzing a series of early Christian works considered as highly representative case studies of gendered temporality, I am to identify a set of key features that may define the influence of eschatology and martyrdom on women's social and religious role in the first three centuries of Christian era.

Abstract

The presentation investigates the nexus between time and the construction of gender identity in early Christianity.
