Early complications after lung transplantation (LT) such as acute cellular rejection (ACR) and infections favor the onset of chronic lung allograft dysfunction (CLAD), the major cause of graft failure. Little is known about the pathomolecular signaling in the lung microenvironment that precedes and drives graft rejection. Therefore, we studied the messages delivered by BAL-extracellular vesicles (BAL-EVs) in recipient human primary bronchial cells (HBECs; Fig.1A).

Abstract

Early complications after lung transplantation (LT) such as acute cellular rejection (ACR) and infections favor the onset of chronic lung allograft dysfunction (CLAD), the major cause of graft failure. Little is known about the pathomolecular signaling in the lung microenvironment that precedes and drives graft rejection. Therefore, we studied the messages delivered by BAL-extracellular vesicles (BAL-EVs) in recipient human primary bronchial cells (HBECs; Fig.1A).
