The coronavirus outbreak (“Covid-19”) has imposed the adoption of urgent measures to deal with the emergency situation that has distorted daily life of human beings, including in the contractual relationships. This work analyses the general legal institutions for the management of contractual contingencies and what legal tools exist to provide solutions to contractual situations of extraordinary nature which have arisen because of the coronavirus outbreak, such as the possibility of not fulfilling contractual obligations and the consequences associated with such a breach.
