The contribution analyses whether Italian courts have jurisdiction over a foreign national for drug trafficking carried out on the high seas pursuant to the Convention Against Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances, and whether Italian courts have preferential jurisdiction over a foreign national for drug trafficking carried out on the high seas pursuant to the Agreement on Illicit Traffic by Sea, Implementing Article 17 of the United Nations Convention against Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances.
