Gendered remittances have become an important research topic capturing the attention of many scholars worldwide. From this point of view Romania represent an interesting study case of feminization of migration and remittances flows. This paper aims to explore the patterns of transnational socio-economic activities of Romanian men and women in Italy, by analyzing the gender specific determinants of remittances. Using recent quantitative data from the Integrometro survey, the findings suggest that gender plays a significant role in shaping the likelihood of remittances.
