Starting from the analysis of some chapters of the Lex Coloniae Genetivae Iuliae and of the Lex Irnitana, devoted to limit – in various ways – the spread of phenomena of corruption and embezzlement within the city magistrates, the paper aims at illus- trating how specific measures contained in the Lex Iulia de repetundis were accepted into the local constitutions as to prevent the decurions and other public figures from illegitimately exploiting local public resources.
