The aim of this symposium is to illustrate the currently approved scientific methods of aging unaccompanied minors as well as raising awareness concerning the lack of harmonised protocols inside and outside Europe. The target audience includes: forensic pathologists, clinical forensic doctors, anthropologists, odontologists, pediatricians, radiologists, psychologists, social workers, jurists. The symposium will briefly present the legal and administrative framework behind the issue and then illustrate the main radiological and forensic methods, algorithms and modus operandi for age estimation in this sensitive scenario.
